A celebration of 32 years

Yesterday was my husband's 32nd birthday.  We had a wonderful time celebrating.

I wish everyone could know Steven the way I do.  He has always been passionate and full of vision for whatever task God has given him.  I have seen him preach to a crowd of 20 middle school boys and crowds of thousands with the same passion and enthusiasm for Christ.

He has a vision for every thing he does.  Whether it is for our church or our family, he seeks God and obeys with audacious faith.  He is a great husband and an amazing father.

I have seen him handle difficult situations with the maturity and wisdom of a man twice his age.  And I often wonder how in the world I ended up marrying such an incredible man of god.  He is not perfect, but he practices what he preaches.

Happy Birthday Steven Furtick.  I love you.

A day trip to the city of LOVE

Everyone should experience camp

All this week our Elevation Students have been at summer camp.  This past Tuesday night, my husband went to preach to them and I tagged along.  I had such a wonderful time getting to know some of Elevation's youngest and finest members.

I have such wonderful memories of youth camp.  I remember feeling so close to God when I was there. It was great to experience camp again.  Every adult should worship in a room full of 500 sleep deprived, emotional teenagers who are on fire for God.  Their energy and passion is contagious. 

I cannot wait to see what God is going to do through the generation of young people that He is raising up in the city of Charlotte.  They are going to be, as my husband so eloquently preached, unstoppable.

A Faith Filled Birthday

     
Today is the birthday of a woman who is very special to me.  Without her, my life would not be what it is today.  She is the mother of my husband, the grandmother of my children, and my mother-in-law.

 

On the day that my husband and I were married, she promised to treat me like her own daughter.  She has kept that promise.  She is more than a mother-in-law to me.  I am proud to call her one of my closest friends.

She is the best grandma to my children.  You will frequently find her on the floor playing with them and singing with them.  I wish she lived closer.  I aspire to be like her and to raise boys like she raised.

Happy Birthday Faith Furtick.  Thanks for making my dreams come true.

The father of my babies

 
I know Father's day has come and gone but I wanted to give one last tribute to the father of my babies.  When I married him there were many things I didn't know about him.  One was what an amazing father he would turn out to be.  He truly loves his children and selflessly puts them first.  He is an amazing partner to have.  I love you Steven Furtick.  Thanks for being such an amazing dad.

9 Years Ago

9 years ago today I made the best decision I would ever make in my life, I said yes to marrying Steven Furtick.  I had no idea what our life would look like, but I knew I wanted to spend it with him.  It was a sweltering hot day in the low country of South Carolina.  We had a gigantic wedding party that included 4 ministers, 2 flower girls and lots bridesmaids and groomsmen.  Our wedding was over an hour long and the guests drank all the sweet tea before I could get any because of the heat.  It was a great day.  We cruised the Caribbean for 7 days on our honeymoon.

In 9 short years, we have had a wild ride.  But 1 church and 3 kids later we are still going strong.  Our marriage is not perfect, but it is strong.  We do our best to love God and put the other first.  He challenges me to be a better person and he makes my dreams come true.

Happy anniversary, Steven Furtick, I can't wait to go through life with you.  And I love you more today than I did the day I married you.
