Mark 10:46-52
46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
The story of the healing of blind Bartimaeus is such a great one. We have a man who cried out to God, unafraid of what others would think of him, and received healing.
My favorite part is when Jesus says to him, "What do you want me to do for you?" Like Jesus didn't already know the man's condition. I think He wanted Bartimaeus to admit his need.
Recently I have been really praying through a situation. I need wisdom to make the right decision. I need sight in my circumstances. So I am confessing my need to him, and lately it has been multiple times a day. Don't get me wrong, I am not waking up at 4 am to kneel before Him in prayer. I am not stopping 3 times a day to bow my head and bring my need to his attention. But as I go throughout my day, I am confessing my need TO Him, and more than that FOR Him. I am constantly bringing my need before Him and asking for wisdom, favor, and insight.
So what do you want Him to do for you? Have you told Him? He is the One who brings sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, and raises dead things to life.
This may be my most favorite blog post of yours! So right and so powerful!

Oh what a relief to hear you say that you just ask throughout your day, and aren't always on your knees before Him...... So often, when I have something I am praying about or working through, I find that I am more precise, aware and present with that issue when I am making dinner, listening to music, folding laundry, and I instantly take it to God, just for a blip....can you say multi-tasker? I think it keeps my eyes more focused on Him and more keenly aware of His presence. It makes me think, can less really sometimes be more?
