I get the saying, don't sweat the small stuff. I know that you can't let small issues keep you from a big vision that God has given you.
But I think that there are times where you should sweat the small stuff. A small rudder steers a humongous ship. A few degrees change and the ship will completely miss its mark.
You should sweat the small stuff in your marriage. Your reactions, your looks, your patience, your wording.
You should sweat the small stuff in your job. Keep your desk clean, be on time.
You should sweat the small stuff in your finances. Stick to your budget, track every purchase.
One of my favorite verses in the Bible (I have shared it often here), is Luke 16:10, "If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones."
Sometimes a tiny tweak can make an enormous difference.
The smallest things in life are the most important...it's a wonder the bible in the book of psalms asked us to learn from the way of life of ants...true talk..thanks

Thank you for posting this! As a newlywed, still in the beginning stages of marriage, I always wonder how people actually come to the point of divorce. It often seems like it's just the small stuff at first, and all of that builds and builds until the damage is much greater. Thank you for the reminder that small things can eventually turn into really big things.

This is something that we all need to remember! A lot of times, it is the little things that cause big problems, especially in our marriages. The looks, wording, etc. Thanks for your reminding me to be cautious of the little things!

Amen! Good word, Holly! The small stuff does matter: even a kiss. Take Judas for example: he kissed the door to Heaven, Jesus, and went to hell!
