This weekend my husband preached the best sermon I have ever heard on how to find the right person. While the sermon had something in it for everyone, if you or someone you know is single and looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right, they really must hear this message.
Based from the story of Isaac and Rebekah found in Genesis 24, my husband drew some wonderful points (in no particular order)...
- If you want to find the right person, you must first be the right person.
- You may think God is not answering your prayers but he may just be answering them in someone else 500 miles away.
- To find the right one, you must pray and position. Position without prayer is called desperate, prayer without position is called lazy.
- In the end, the result can be so amazing that you cannot even remember the difficult journey.
- My story is about a much bigger story that God is writing in the universe.
You can listen to the message here today and then here in our archives.
Holly. I am 56 and should have heard your message years ago. Think I knew it, but hadn't ever heard it in just that way.. and with a perfect example of why.
;) the boys and the shoes and coats. OH how many times I said to my own children.. just worry about yourself.. ....... WOW.. if I had only taken that to heart.
Blessing on you for speaking the heart of God into my life. NOW to try to live it out.
That is the hard part.

Wow - how do you only have 3 comments? I just got a chance to watch (wanted to watch part 1 first). First, my hat off to you preparing a message with a 2 month old and 2 older kids - I can't imagine and I only have 1 that's 9 months:) Great message. God definitely spoke to me through some exact and specific things you mentioned. I think I may need to watch this at least once a week for fresh encouragement to be Jesus.

Holly, Thank you for writing the sermon commentaries every Monday, they are a nice recap for study. I am always amazed at how well Pastor Furtick does in bringing these biblical teachings to life, and transforming them into modern day times. It literally made me feel like I am watching the hunt unfold, and ready to celebrate when they carried Rebecca back 400 miles to the wedding, it was crazy good! As always, blessed and changed!!

I came to Elevation Matthews on Saturday--first time I had ever been to Elevation, and loved it. His message was so practical, and so on point for my life right now!
