There are only 4 more days left in LOVE Week, and many more opportunities still open, it's not too late to get involved. Our goal for the week was to reach 25,000 volunteer hours. And we have already reached over 18,000 hours!!
I'm so proud to be a part of a movement that is making such an impact in our city. And I know you are too! I want to know what you have been doing. Leave a comment telling us where you have volunteered this week!
This morning Elijah and Graham volunteered at Bright Beginnings (see below). They are making birthday packets for homeless children.
Here's a quick look at some of the projects that have been going on through out the week.
Our goal for Samaritan’s Feet was 10,000 shoes processed. In one weekend we processed 17,279 pairs of shoes! That is 5 months worth of work for Samaritan's Feet!
Stuff The Truck
We contacted our Outreach partners to see what their greatest needs were. Starting with last weekend, at each campus we have been collecting everything from clothing to books for schools. This is a great way that we can provide for our outreach partners in a big way. The trucks will be there this weekend so it's not too late to bring stuff with you!
Christ Our Shepherd ministries exists to empower single parents to reach financial and spiritual security by providing quality children's programs, education and life skills in a Christian environment, and provide quality Christian resources and children's programs to the community at large.
Jackson Park is an incredible ministry with a vision "to see the families, children and all individuals of Jackson Park, Charlotte and surrounding communities come to know Christ as their Savior and Lord; becoming productive citizens in the community and serving others as a disciple of Christ." Our volunteers spent time cleaning up their facilities this week.
Bright Blessings vision is to bring joy, recognition and support to homeless children and families during difficult times. Volunteers spent time this week putting together birthday gift baskets for kids who otherwise would not be getting anything on their birthday. It was a great way for children to get involved with LOVE Week and volunteer with their parents.
Check out the LOVE Week website to find out how you can still get involved!
And leave a comment to tell me what you have been involved in!
We had a blast at Bright Blessings this week. Loved finding a place that was super kid-friendly to volunteer. 3 yr old said, "I wanna go back another day." Selfishly, I think that's one of the best parts of Love Week... a great chance to reinforce with my children why we love on others.

Last weekend my family served with the Operation Sandwich, Samaritan's feet, and my little guy and I helped with Bright Blessings Wed morning with home school egroup. It is wonderful and we have enjoyed helping! We are new to Elevation and are very happy so far! This is the church we have been longing for since our one Pastor left our church we were members at up north~

I volunteered at Bright Blessings on Tuesday morning for a few hours and helped put together birthday gifts for kids of all ages. Bright Blessings is a wonderful way to stay involved in our community and to help those in need. I have been so impressed with them! My husband Louis volunteered at the Crisis Assistance Ministry today from 9-1 and had a great time helping. We both also gave blood this afternoon at the Matthews location. My 1st time doing so and I was glad to finally help in that way. We have only been a member of Elevation for about 6 months but it has been such a blessing being involved here and we are proud to continue on and help our city as much as we can! Thanks so much! xxoo

My E group made a teacher basket and had a great time sorting shoes at Blakeney last Sunday night! I got to take my E Group's teacher appreciation basket to her school. It was SUCH a blessing to see how excited the teachers were at Piney Grove. We're cleaning up a park on Clanton Rd. Saturday morning. I can't wait!

We did stuff the truck on Sunday and then my kids and I put together the shoes for Samaritan's purse. We went through the Hope Cancer Ministry information and made butterflies. Hope Cancer Ministry was very special to us when my mother-in-law was going through her cancer treatment. Today I went to Crisis Assistance and sorted clothes for a couple of hours. (I am definitely going back there and taking the whole family - it is very family friendly)
The Outreach team has made it so easy to jump in and volunteer. I am extremely grateful for that.

Last Saturday my husband and I sorted clothes at the Crisis Assistance Free Store. They are doing so much for the Charlotte community and it was an honor to serve there. Tuesday my eGroup went to Hope Haven and painted. The residents there were so sweet and appreciative! This upcoming Saturday I'll be at Jackson Park spring cleaning. It has been such an awesome week and truly an honor to be able to serve those in the community.

Our eGroup volunteered last Saturday morning, along with our daughters, and helped spread 2 tractor trailers of mulch at Hornets Nest Park. Great morning to spread the LOVE and celebrated at Amelie's after.

My girls and I (age 10) have done Bright Blessings on Monday, delivered gift baskets to 3 employees of Crisis Assistance, processed shoes at Samaritan's Feet, going back to Bright Blessings on Friday and the whole family is doing the 3 mile walk on Sat. It has been an AWESOME week! Can't wait to see where the Lord leads me to continue on!!
