A Trip to the Strawberry Patch
Yesterday we joined some friends to pick strawberries at Hall Family Farm here in Charlotte. I forgot my camera but thank the Lord for the iPhone!! I think Elijah's face is priceless in the first picture, he looks like such a big boy!
We had a great time. Strawberries are my favorite and these are delicious. We finished the morning off with strawberry slushies and a picnic lunch. We will definitely be back.
Tomorrow I will be scouring the internet for strawberry recipes, any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Strawberry jam! If you'd rather take the easy route get the Ball freezer jam pack (instructions on package, SUPER easy) http://www.pickyourown.org/jam.htm

We have a strawberry patch here too ... we're actually going next Wednesday. We freeze some (don't wash them first ... lesson learned!) and then we throw them in smoothies over the next couple of months and the added cold&sweet combo is great! My daughter also likes to eat frozen strawberry while we're hanging out by the pool!

great and easy strawberry dessert: whisk together a tub of whip cream, and a 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk. Then, add cut up strawberries and chunks of angel food cake and mix all together. So yummy!

Strawberry Shortcake and Chocolate Covered Strawberries are very good. A strawberry, blueberry smoothie is great here's the recipe:
1. Fill a blender about a forth full with crushed ice
2. Put in two handfuls of strawberry, don't chop them up or anything, just take the stems off.
3. Put in 1 banana, sliced, if you like bananas put in two.
4. Put in 3 handfuls of blueberries, just as they are.
5. Blend, if it looks too thick, put in one cup of water. Then blend some more, until it is a bit thinner then a milkshake.
6. Pour into cups and enjoy.
