Monday Morning Commentary
My husband had the weekend off yesterday. Woo hoo! He's been working furiously on his first book entitled Sun Stand Still set to hit bookstores this September. I can't wait to read the finished manuscript and will be exclusively giving one copy away as soon as it is complete. That was a joke. The part about giving one away, not the part about me being unable to wait to read the manuscript.
Anyway, today one of my favorite preachers (besides my husband and my dad) hit the screens at Elevation with an incredible message on the It Factor. Yep, Craig Groeschel.
I have heard Pastor Craig preach this message three times at three different events. Each time I heard the message God spoke to me in a different way. I have not read the book but have heard that it's incredible.
One line in this message really spoke me. I think it will stick with me for the rest of my life. I think my children will roll their eyes every time they hear me repeat it to them...
When you do what everyone else does, you can't do what no one else does.
Now that will preach. Sometimes, being different is a necessary path to being greatly used by God. I hope that I can model this with my life and pass it on to my kids.
I'm wondering what the everyone else's in your life are doing that you need to break away from...
Maybe its about not being like every other American couple who lives with consumer debt?
Maybe its about not hanging out with a group of friends who have no spiritual vision for their life?
Maybe its about being honest at your job when no one else is?
Maybe its about loving someone that no one else loves?
You can listen to the message here later today.
You can listen to any of Pastor Craig's weekly messages here.
Have a great Monday. Don't be like everyone else today.

Craig is simply AWESOME isn't he! We have his book too and it is excellent I highly recommend reading it. I heard him preach live for the first time at Hillsong Conference last year and was totally blown away.

I am now 33 but when i was in Junior High and my Dad would drive me to school, every morning when I was about to get out of the car he would say
" you be you! if your busy trying to be someone else, who is going to be Anna?" and no one does you as good as you can!!!
I think i am just starting to understand that wisdom, and I thank you for confirming it to me today!

Holly - that verse needs to be one of my daughters life verses. She is 15 and is just different than most of the girls that she knows. She thinks girls and guys her age are just so silly and immature and that they do things that are so unpleasing to God. Sometimes I catch myself telling her that she needs to step out of her comfort zone and try to socialize a little more with other girls, but honestly the more I think about it the more I know that I am very blessed to have a beautiful 15 yr. old daughter that doesn't "settle" and follow her peers. She wants to live for the Lord, go to school to learn and love her family :) She is the one that brought us to Elevation a little over 1 yr. ago and what an impact Pastor has made on her. Thanks to you and your husband for trying to keep our kids grounded and for being such wonderful servants. By the way, Saturday night was extra special having Pastor speak and hug each and every one waiting in line - "She said, Mom did u hear him, he called me sweetheart" ; D Being able to speak to him was a very nice touch.

Craig is the bomb. I attend a LifeChurch.tv network church in Oklahoma and it's cool when we can trade pastors for a sermon series. (Furticks the bomb too, btw...)
